Bulldogs Place in Logan

The Golden Plains High School Boys track team placed in several events at the Logan Invitational Track Meet on April 21. The Bulldogs accumulated 63 points to place fifth overall.

The 4 x 800m relay team of Diego Perez, Dylan Wark, Zeke Weiner, and Adam Ritter placed first with a run of 9:42.43. The 4 x 100m relay team of Cristian Garcia, Perez, Ritter, and Tanner Black ran the best relay time of the season at 49.71 to place sixth. The 4 x 400m relay team of Black, Garcia, Ritter, and Perez placed third with a 4:08.87 run.

Dylan Wark won the 1600m run at 4:59.95. He also placed first in the800m run at 2:09.63. Parker Vahling set a PR of 57.56 in the 400m for second place. He also set a PR of 108’ 11” in Javelin. Cristian Garcia placed second in Triple Jump at 36’ 7” and Adam Ritter placed sixth in the 400m at 1:00.08. Zeke Weiner finished in second place in the 3200m run at 11:25.01 and placed sixth in the 1600m at 5:22.90. Kelby Buehler set a PR of 86’ 16” in Discus and Perez set a PR of 27.18 in the 200m dash.

Results from additional events were: Shot Put-Kelby Buehler 27’ 8.5”, Nash Ziegelmeier 27’ 1”, Discus-Ziegelmeier 75’ 5”, Javelin-Kelby Buehler 87’ 8”, Ziegelmeier 65’ 3”, Long Jump-Vahling 17’ 3.5”, Black 15’ 7.75”, 100m-Black 12.93, Kasch Buehler 14.31, Kelby Buehler 14.54, 1600m-Brandon Karnes 6:41.77, 400m-Garcia 1:03.52, 800m-Karnes 3:12.59, 200m-Vahling 26.68.

“I think that our season has been pretty good so far,” said Vahling. “We’ve done quite a bit of conditioning and everyone is in pretty good shape. We just need to continue working hard and improving.” The Dogs will continue their season on April 24 in Oakley.
