Bulldogs Compete in Hill City

The Golden Plains High School boys track team competed at the Hill City Invitational Track meet on April 17. Despite the wind, several competitors showed improvement in their events. “It was a big meet, “said Kelby Buehler. “There was a lot of competition. It was cool to see some really good throwers and saw some really far throws. It helps us develop the proper form so we can build on strength.”
Senior Dylan Wark improved his time in the 800m to 2:06.09 placing second. Adam Ritter also improved in the 800 to 2:23.7. Zeke Weiner cut his time in the 3200m run to 11:02.37 placing seventh and Brandon Karnes improved to 6:07.32 in the 1600m.
Tanner Black set a PR of 17’ 3.5” in long jump and a PR in the 200m of 26.58. The 4 x 100m relay team of Black, Diego Perez, Ritter, and Parker Vahling improved their time to 49.74. Both boys in Javelin set PR’s including Nash Ziegelmeier 70’ 3” and Kelby Buehler 94’ 7”.
Results of additional events include: Long Jump-Perez 17’ 4.5”, Vahling 16’ 9/5”, Triple Jump-Perez 36’ 3”, Cristian Garcia 35’ 10”, Shot Put-Ziegelmeier 27’ 0.5”, Buehler 27’ 0”, Javier Romero 28’ 5.25”, Discus: Ziegelmeier 80’ 4”, Romero 87’ 4”, Buehler 79’ 1”.
Running event results are: 100m-Black 12.81, Wark 12.05, 200m-Garcia 28.51, 400m-Romero 1:26.08, Garcia 1:04.72, Vahling 58.85, 1600m-Weiner 5:08.17, 3200m-Karnes 16:33.28, 4 x 400m relay (Garcia, Ritter, Wark, Vahling) 4:04.49. The Dogs continue their season on April 21 in Logan.
