Abilene Hustlers 4-H Club: April Minutes

The monthly meeting of the Abilene Hustlers 4-H Club was held on Monday, April 13th 2026. This was the annual exchange meeting with Solomon Valley 4-H Club. In an exchange meeting, two clubs get together to learn and share experiences.
Reagan Frantz called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Roll Call was answered by your favorite flower. Next, Reagan Frantz recognized the guest for the evening- Dr. Sam Funk. He shared about Camp Lakeside and handed out flyers stating that there will be a spring workday on May 2nd, 2025 at 9:00 am. All are welcome to come help!
Jack Denny then gave the Treasurer’s report followed by Finley Frantz giving the Reporter’s Report. Reagan Frantz next reminded the club that for every member wanting to attend Camp Lakeside, council will cover $60 and our club will cover $70 of the $150 cost. This camp is for ages 7-9. YQCA trainings will be April 23rd and May 28th at 6:00 pm. There will be pizza at both.
Volunteers for small animal weigh-in are also needed. Amanda Juenemann gave the report of community leaders saying, we received a blue on our model meeting and congrats to all the County Club Day participants.
The club then discussed National Volunteer Appreciation Week and what that would look like this year. It was decided to make cookies to deliver them to businesses around the town. For the program, Reagan Frantz gave a project talk on the Kansas 4-H Health and Wellness Team, Joseph Schrick gave a project talk on Wrestling, and Matthew Schwarz gave a demonstration on his 3-D pen.
Rawlins Mattix led the club in Recreation. The meeting was then adjourned. The next meeting is set for May 4th, 2026.
This meeting will be the Jr. Officers Meeting. Upcoming events include: Camp Lakeside Registration opens March 1st, Small Animal Weigh-in April 18th, YQCA trainings April 23rd and May 28th, Last chance to add or drop projects is May 1st, and Camp Lakeside will be June 8th and 9th.
